Opportunity:
We are currently seeking skilled and motivated Machinery Operators to join our expanding agricultural operations at Hill River Farm and Koojan Downs and New Norcia Farms. These hands-on roles are responsible for the safe and efficient daily operation of loaders, trucks, telehandlers, light vehicles and other machinery across broadacre farming activities, including feeding hay and pellets to cattle, small earthmoving works, general farm duties and site maintenance.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Operate tractors and broadacre machinery for seeding, spraying and spreading across the property.
  • Routine checks of vehicles, machinery and equipment including notification to management and mechanical team of defects, issues and incidents.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices, environmental sustainability and animal welfare.
  • Efficient and effective operation of machinery to complete tasks safely and promptly.
  • Safe daily operation of modern vehicles, machinery and equipment used in agricultural and broadacre farming operations.
  • Feeding cattle with hay, pellets and other feed inputs using machinery.
  • Mix and handle agricultural chemicals in accordance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements. ? Assist with fencing, water systems and general farm infrastructure maintenance related to cropping and livestock operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of cropping activities where required (fuel use, machinery hours, application rates, etc.).
  • Follow seasonal farm plans and instructions to complete tasks efficiently and on time.



Health & Safety:

  • Ensure a safe work environment for all staff.
  • Raise concerns or actively address any health & safety issue identified.
  • Attend and apply all required safety training.
  • Identify and report all hazards, incidents, injuries & near misses immediately.
  • Report for work in a safe manner, unaffected by drugs and/or alcohol.
  • At all times wear safety equipment provided for the job task or area.



Skills and Experience:

Qualifications:

  • Current driver's licence (Preferably minimum HR, with HC or MC licence highly regarded).

Essential:

  • Previous experience with machinery including using a loader and skid steer loader with a focus on safety.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good mechanical knowledge.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, motivated and hard-working, willing to be part of the small team.
  • Content working independently.
  • Candidates will be required to Pass a National Police Clearance and pre- employment medical assessment. The role will require a suitable level of fitness to carry out the duties.

Desired:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • HRWLs and tickets highly regarded.
